Methodology
Every deed recorded in ACRIS, the NYC Department of Finance register, during September 2026, for income-producing property: multifamily, mixed use, retail, office, industrial, hospitality, development sites and special purpose. 1-4 family homes and condo units are counted separately and left out of the totals. Months are recording months, which usually trail the closing by a few days to a few weeks. Multi-lot transfers are counted once. Buyer and seller names are the parties on the recorded deed. Prices are as recorded and are not adjusted.
