122-acre Brooklyn Marine Terminal

A key vote on New York City’s $3.1 billion plan to redevelop the 122-acre Brooklyn Marine Terminal has been delayed again. The Economic Development Corporation postponed the decision after the project’s task force requested more time to review unresolved issues around transportation, housing, resiliency, and governance. The plan includes 8,000 apartments, 30 acres of public space, and 60 acres for port use. Despite a $12 billion projected economic impact, concerns persist over the $1.75 billion port modernization cost and the potential loss of federal funds. A rescheduled vote is expected in the coming weeks, possibly stretching into June.
