Charney Companies and Tavros secured $145 million from Silver Point Capital, Brodsky Organization, and Tikehau Capital to acquire 175 Third Avenue in Gowanus for their 1,000-unit rental project—the neighborhood’s largest planned building. The site is part of their broader Gowanus Wharf development, a four-building, 2,200-unit, 2 million-square-foot campus. The property was purchased from Aby Rosen’s RFR, which had already completed environmental remediation, design work, and secured a 421-a tax abatement. Andrew Sasson of Ackman-Ziff brokered the sale, while JLL’s Christopher Peck and Peter Rotchford arranged the financing.
