Former Goldman Sachs partner David Leuschen sold his Upper East Side Gilded Age mansion at 973 Fifth Avenue for $46 million, significantly below its original 2021 asking price of $80 million. The six-story, 16,000-square-foot home features 11 bedrooms, seven bathrooms, five kitchens, nine woodburning fireplaces, a rooftop terrace, elevator, steam room, silver vault, and climate-controlled wine cellar. The buyer, an LLC called “Bliss on 5th,” is reportedly a non-local finance-linked family. Leuschen bought the property in 2012 for $42 million. The sale price equates to $2,875 per square foot, marking one of the priciest townhouse deals in New York this year.
