Patrick Walsh, a backer of Truth Social, is suing SL Green for $30m, alleging that the landlord allowed sewage to leak into his Midtown gym at TMPL Gym in Worldwide Plaza. The complaint also accuses SL Green and RXR, the co-owner and manager of the space, of failing to cool water for the air conditioning units, leading to shutdowns, and allowing neighboring residences and restaurants to siphon hot water from the gym. Walsh claims that these maintenance issues have harmed the gym’s reputation, resulting in negative reviews and a loss of 500 members. The lawsuit comes after Walsh settled a lawsuit with the gym’s former owner, David Barton, three months ago. The reduction in the implied value of Worldwide Plaza by $500m is attributed to the departure of law firm Cravath Swaine & Moore, which leases a third of the office space at One Worldwide Plaza.
