Paul Newman’s

Paul Newman’s

Paul Newman’s former co-op at 1120 Fifth Avenue sold for $14 million, $4 million above its $9.95 million asking price. The 3,000-square-foot, one-bedroom unit occupies half of the top floor and was originally used by Newman and his wife Joanne Woodward as a pied-à-terre. The apartment, which retains many original details, sparked a bidding war, drawing over 50 showings and nearly a dozen offers. The buyers are an unnamed finance couple. The listing was handled by Douglas Elliman’s Noble Black and Jennifer Stillman; Brown Harris Stevens represented the buyers. Woodward, now retired from public life, resides in Connecticut.
