Rudin Management is moving forward with its plan to convert 845 Third Avenue in Midtown East into a 411-unit apartment building. The $41.7m project will transform the 21-story office tower, developed by the Rudin family in 1963, into housing with units spanning the second through 21st floors. Plans call for 9,100 square feet of ground-floor retail and amenities including a gym, spa, coworking spaces, media rooms, and a plunge pool. The conversion, designed by CetraRuddy, was enabled by the City of Yes rezoning, which allowed additional floors and made the project financially viable.
