Construction preparations have begun at 144–150 Greenpoint Avenue, the site of a proposed six-story mixed-use building in Greenpoint, Brooklyn. Developed by Double U Development, the project involves the expansion of a former 14,400-square-foot event venue into a 28,607-square-foot structure yielding 35 apartments. The development will also include 6,214 square feet of retail space on the cellar and ground floors, according to DOB permits filed last spring under the Spearhead Contracting LLC. The property is located near the intersection of Greenpoint and Manhattan Avenues. Wooden fencing has been assembled in front of the low-rise property, blocking off its ground floor. It is unclear when work will begin.
